Warsaw Climate Talks is a series of meetings organised by the German Embassy in Warsaw and its partners, including the Reform Institute. Despite their different starting points, Poland and Germany are working together towards a climate-neutral Europe, learning from each other’s successes and mistakes. This cooperation creates the synergy needed to strengthen the competitiveness of both economies, enhance energy security, and reduce living costs for citizens in the era of the energy transition.
The aim of the initiative is to exchange experiences regarding the conditions of the energy transition in Poland and Germany, while exploring possible pathways for the EU to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
The Reform Institute is acting as the content partner for the inaugural meeting of the Warsaw Climate Talks debate series. It is responsible for the comprehensive organisation of an international conference attended by high-level politicians from both countries, government representatives, and experts from think tanks and non-governmental organisations in Poland and Germany. The theme of the event is ‘The Energy Mix of the Future’.
The main outcome of the project is establishing a solid foundation for the new Warsaw Climate Talks format as a platform for continuous dialogue between ministries, the business sector and the expert community in both countries. The meetings promote best practices from both countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation on initiatives aimed at achieving a climate-neutral economy.
Bilateral discussions enhance the strategic decisions made by Poland and Germany. This cooperation accelerates the modernisation of both countries as leading European economies, while also fostering the mutual trust required to jointly achieve Europe’s climate neutrality by 2050.
The project is carried out in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Poland. As part of the project, the Reform Institute is responsible for co-creating the event agenda, selecting experts and managing the discussion panels within the framework established by the embassy.
The project is funded by the German Embassy in Poland.
