National Energy and Climate Plan - Summary of the Reform Institute's April workshop
About the project
On April 26, 2024, Reform Institute held a workshop on the National Energy and Climate Plan. During the meeting, which brought together nearly 50 participants representing some 20 organizations, we developed recommendations for the public administration for possible use in the course of further work on NECP, which is a document of a strategic nature. Analysts of Reform Institute also presented a partial assessment of the updated National Plans of selected European countries. In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Climate and Environment shared an update on the status of work on the NECP.
Participants worked in discussion groups, discussing needs related to three areas, i.e. electrification based on renewable energy sources, industry transformation and the social aspect of the transformation.
Together, we evaluated the process of updating the Polish NECP, pointing out, among other things, the challenges it should respond to.
During the event, the current status of work on the final version of the plan was presented by the Director of the Strategy and Analysis Department, Ministry of Climate and Environment - Wojciech Krawczyk.
Following this, the priority issues that should be included in the NECP were discussed by Alexander Sniegocki - CEO and Head of Economic Analysis, Reform Institute.
A valuable voice was also expressed by representatives of the Ministry of Development and Technology and the Ministry of Finance, who took part both in the general part of the meeting, during which the current status of the work at the Ministry of Climate and Environment was presented, and in the workshops held afterwards.
