In 2024, it marked 20 years since Poland, upon joining the European Union, committed to adopting the single currency. Despite this, the issue of joining the eurozone has remained politically frozen for years and rarely features in the strategic debate on the country\u2019s future. Meanwhile, changing geopolitical conditions, the growing fragmentation of the global economy and the deepening integration of eurozone countries mean that the question of Poland\u2019s place in the Economic and Monetary Union is taking on new significance. In these circumstances, it is necessary to re-examine the potential scenarios for Poland\u2019s integration into the eurozone and their significance for the country\u2019s economic security and position within the EU.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project aims to analyse current scenarios regarding Poland\u2019s future relationship with the eurozone and to reopen a substantive debate on the strategic implications of adopting the single currency. The initiative examines the issue of the euro not only from an economic perspective, but also in terms of economic security, Poland\u2019s position within the European Union, and the future of European integration.<\/p>\n

As part of the project, the Reform Institute is analysing the economic, institutional and geopolitical factors surrounding Poland\u2019s membership of the eurozone. The work involves developing scenarios for further European integration, assessing the potential costs and benefits for the Polish economy, and identifying the consequences of remaining outside the core of EU integration.<\/p>\n

The project provides a comprehensive analysis of scenarios concerning Poland\u2019s relationship with the eurozone and their economic and political implications. It has resulted in an expert publication, accompanied by communication activities designed to foster public debate on Poland\u2019s future within the European Union. The project organises the arguments concerning the single currency, taking into account both macroeconomic issues and changing geopolitical conditions, as well as the country\u2019s economic security.<\/p>\n

The project helps to raise the quality of public debate on Poland\u2019s future within the European Union and promotes an approach based on data analysis and long-term strategic scenarios in discussions on economic policy.<\/p>\n
